Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. When she was just five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled at the Dragon School. From the age of six Emma knew she would like to be an actress. For several years, she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught the art of acting and dancing. Through a school play as well as a Stagecoach show, she took as the lead role at age 10, and acted. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting agent by her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been chosen for these parts. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's film debut coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film set records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings and was the highest-grossing film of the year 2001. The film has been praised by critics for its film, as well as the performance of the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed and widely read, praised her performance as admirable. Emma's performance received nominations and later won awards for the movie.
